There is a scene in Disclosure Day that cracked me up, which is not something that I was expecting from Disclosure Day, not even something that I needed from Disclosure Day, but something that I did appreciate from Disclosure Day.
And in this footage, President Richard Nixon is showing, revealing top-secret evidence of extraterrestrial life to Jackie Gleason.
Josh O'Connor just refers to him as, quote, "A famous TV actor." At which point I stopped laughing, and I stood up in my seat at the AMC 16 in Burbank, and I said out loud, "I guess somebody's never heard of The Hustler.
He may be Ralph Cramden to you, Josh O'Connor, but he'll always be Minnesota Fats to me." Which inspired another person to stand up a couple rows away and say, "Well, he'll always be Buford T.
Justice to me." And it kept going on like that for several minutes, like that scene in Spartacus except with people standing up in their seats and reciting their favorite Jackie Gleason credit.
"He'll always be Tony Banks to me from Skidoo." But even though they don't identify him by name in Disclosure Day, they dress up this actor in the most Jackie Gleason outfit you've ever seen, like he just came from accepting an award at a film festival, a career retrospective award, and he wanted to really give them the Jackie Gleason experience.
He's wearing a, a white lounge suit with these big lapels, a little red carnation.
But the vibe is v- is very loose, as though it's the end of a long night of, of drinking, of throwing them back.
