Now in the United States National Park System alone there are more than 84 million acres of preserved woods, deserts, mountains and other wilderness.

So it should come as no surprise that in the past 100 years there have been a number of cases of reported missing persons.

But what's most disturbing is these cases are increasing at an alarming rate, and the circumstances behind these disappearances is sometimes beyond the bizarre.
