Discovery Bay

The movie itself was not one of Disney's great successes, but its design work survived.

The Hyperion had previously appeared in concepts for Discovery Bay, an unrealized land designed by Tony Baxter, that same one, for Disneyland in California.

Elements of that never-built project eventually found a new home in Paris.

In the story of Discoveryland, Videopolis is an air terminal, a place from which adventurers once departed for destinations around the world.
