And I just change lanes, and he ends up having to swerve, hits another car.

The CHP?

The CHP, yeah.

So on Tuesday, I had court in Alameda County, and I got a first-time DUI, and I had to pay restitution 'cause they said that I hit a car.

Now it's four.

For weeks, hundreds of FBI agents, California Highway Patrol officers, and National Park Service rangers combed Yosemite's rugged backcountry with dogs and helicopters.

Two dozen FBI agents commandeered part of the headquarters of the Stanislaw Hot Shots, a forest fire fighting squad based in the old gold rush town of Sonora, to sift through the little evidence they had been able to collect.

TV crews and reporters swarmed over the Yosemite region and descended on the Modesto Holiday Inn, where the families of the missing tourists maintained a vigil.

She began calling all of his friends to see if they had heard from him, but to her horror, no one had.

Unbeknownst to Brooke and Matthew Sr., the California Highway Patrol discovered Matthew Jr.'s car abandoned on the Topanga Tower motorway close to the Las Rosas Overlook.

They traced the car's registration and found that it belonged to Matthew Weaver Jr.

After speaking with his family, they realized that he had not made contact with them since August 11th.

According to the friend, Christina jumped into her silver two-door Dodge Ram 1500 pickup and drove away into the night.

Her friend hoped that Christina would return after taking a short drive to clear her head, but as the sun rose, there was no sign of Christina.

That same night, 46 miles away on Highway 247 near Boddick Road in Johnson Valley, California, the California Highway Patrol found some of Christina's personal items scattered on the side of the highway.

It wasn't until the next morning that her car was found abandoned a further 37 miles away near Valley View Road and 29 Palms Highway.

You can't just walk in the middle of a road or take pictures.

So Caltrans is working with the CHP, I believe, to get it more orderly.

It's, you know, other than the Golden Gate Bridge, I mean, it's one of the most visited or most recognizable bridges in California.

Iconic.

They offered to help her, but she declined medical assistance.

Officers and volunteer search and rescue teams from more than half a dozen other sheriff's departments, together with dog teams, the California Highway Patrol, and the Governor's Office of Emergency Services combed the forest on foot while helicopters from California Air National Guard did an aerial search.

The search focused around the area where her car was found, but there was no sign of Sandra.

Then on August 9, 2020, two hunters saw a woman leaning against a tree along Road 5S01 near Besore Road.

And, you know, because of his age, he was saying things like, well, maybe I'll go up with Barney.

And Barney was his driver at the time of the California Highway Patrol.

Maybe Barney and I, because they would go up and jump wood together.

He was the real deal.

At least two others or cars were involved, including one that rolled over.

Video shows damage to the front of the CHP patrol car.

No word yet on how many injuries and whether what led up to the crash.
