Carrie's remains were found on March 10, 1985, in a relatively flat, swampy area approximately 50 yards downhill from Star Lake Road and only about 25 yards downhill from Sandra Gabbert's remains.

Two acquaintances of Carrie's reported that she said she had not experienced in the spring of 1983 with a man who she said took her up to Snoqualmie Pass.

Both of these individuals saw Carrie return from this trip in a pickup truck.

One of these witnesses provided investigators with an extremely detailed description of the truck, which closely resembles the pickup truck owned at the time by Ridgeway's father, who lived in South King County.

States that have implemented structures like wildlife overpasses also see their investment come back in spades, with these crossings reducing crashes by 90%.

The Washington State Department of Transportation recently announced that there have been officially 10,000 recorded crossings along the I-90 Snoqualmie Pass overpass since it first opened.

Washington State Department of Transportation shared in a social media post, Between that over-crossing and our 11 under-crossings on Snoqualmie Pass, we've seen nearly 40,000 crossings since 2014.

This structure has helped restore the ecological integrity of the North and South Cascades by reducing wildlife vehicle collisions, reconnecting habitat, and allowing herds and solitary travelers alike to move safely through one of Washington's most important wildlife corridors, the group shared on social media earlier this month.

These crossings now serve as a national model for how transportation and conservation goals can align to restore ecological function across major highways.

You are listening from high atop Snoqualmie Pass, where the temperature is 44 degrees outside.

44 degrees.

There is snow in some mountaintops.

And then we journeyed over to Clay Ellum, which is beautiful, beautiful country.

You have to go through the Snoqualmie Pass to get there.

And we were surrounded by fires.

I think the closest fire came within seven miles of us.

My alarm sounded at four o’clock that Tuesday morning.

By five thirty, I was pulling into a gravel parking area near Snoqualmie Pass, where everyone had agreed to meet before carpooling to the actual trailhead.

Our guide, a woman named Diane, was already organizing equipment in the rear of her Subaru Outback.

Silver strands ran through her braided hair, and the lines around her eyes suggested years spent beneath the mountain sun.

It's very wooded and secluded, and there are only a few houses and cabins on our road out here in the Oregon Cascades.

Just last month, I had a pretty close call with a mountain lion while hiking near the Snoqualmie Pass.

Later, when I was talking to a wildlife officer about it, he told me about an experience he had near Mount Rainier that instantly struck me as a Bigfoot encounter.

It resonated because I had my own similar experience years ago.

Skiing was my favorite sport as a kid.

As a young man growing up in the Pacific Northwest and skiing in Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, White Pass.

The Mayer brothers were from Washington State.

One of my best friends was an elite skier trying to make the US national team, and broke his back our senior year.
