Milwaukee's Tailgate Brewers Podcast
Oct 14, 2026 · 1 hr 26 min · 19 segments
Paul was back with Ryan and Paul to talk about an eventful first couple of NLCS games in Milwaukee, how the Brewers jumped out to their 2-0 series lead and what they'll need to do to win 2 of the next…
Paul NoonanHostUh, because all the Brewers have to do is win two of the next five games and they make the World Series.
[laughs] Um, especially when you consider the Brewers beat Tarik Skubal and Yoshinobu Yamamoto on back to back nights.
Uh, just, you know, the most dominant, uh, two time reigning AL Cy Young winner and then the best post season pitcher of this generation back to back nights.
[laughs] In game one the Brewers were able to do just enough against Skubal to get things done.
Bryce Turang showing more encouraging signs of his post-season numbers regressing back to normal.
Uh, on the good end, he shot that inside sinker bearing down on his hands for an opposite field, uh, home run off Skubal.
Uh, something really weird, what was the note? Like, only three of those pitches, uh, 2-0 inside sinker, have been hit for a home run this year.
Jacob Mierzowski after another shaky start, and Aaron Ashby led the way with two shutout innings before Abner and Trevor Magill shut the door.
Trevor got a little wild, uh, in the ninth inning, but, uh, got that third out to get that win.
We'll talk about game two in a minute, but first question I wanna ask is, especially after how last year's NLCS went, uh, kind of a carbon copy game ones too.
You know, we didn't have to urge Bryce Turang to try to get hit by a pitch to bring ahead... [laughs] Bring in the go-ahead run this time.
Uh, Paul, was it, like, was this the must-have game of the series just to kind of prove to yourself and maybe everybody in the building you could do it?
