And then at Oktoberfest grounds on Friday midday and afternoon.

It's called Viroqua, just south of La Crosse.

The Philadelphia cows run at large if they are blue-blooded and belong to the old families.

La Crosse, the second city in Wisconsin, was broken of the cow habit in a peculiar manner.

Years ago La Crosse allowed cows to go where they listeth, and being a sandy city, like Prairie du Chien, the cows slept in the sand in the middle of the road.

They were regular middle-of-the-roaders.

At that time the fire department was volunteer, and the young citizens turned out when the fire bell rang at midnight, grabbed their red shirts, and started for the fire on a gallop.

Always some firemen ran over a sleeping cow on the way to a fire at night, and after the fire was over there would be an hour devoted to doctoring the skinned shins and swearing at the cows.

Petitions were sent to the council to at least compel the cows to all sleep in one street, to give the firemen a chance.

But it was no use, and probably cows would be sleeping in the sandy streets of La Crosse now if it hadn't been for the fire at Zeisler's Brewery one hot night in August.

I was actually selling advertising, but one of my clients was the Colonels, and I was their official scorer back in 2002, that summer.

And I got connected with Dan Kapanke in La Crosse, Wisconsin, in the fall of 2002, and we started the La Crosse Loggers in 2003.

um, where we've been ever since we'll, we'll celebrate 25 years next year, um, in La Crosse.

We, we've also, our, our group, um, also acquired the Mankato Moondogs in Mankato, Minnesota in 2018 and the Rochester Honkers, Rochester, Minnesota in 2019.

And, and, uh, and obviously this past year, you know, with, uh, expanding into, into Dyersville with the Dreamers.

Yeah, southeastern Minnesota, Houston County, and those areas.

So down by La Crosse and Caledonia, Minnesota, that area.

And I dove right in pretty, pretty extreme, very like, you know, I'm like a Pluto Libra in the seventh house, you know, that whole, like in EA, we talk about Libra as a sign of extremes.

Well, I was very extreme with diving in as I think a lot of people maybe can relate, you know, when you find astrology and you're like, what the hell is this? Um, and so, um, I just, you know, I was in La Crosse, Wisconsin at the time and just trying to find more books, you know, like I had like a cookie cutter book that I borrowed from a friend and that alone was enough to be like, Oh my gosh, what is astrology? What? And then, um, somebody had, I guess there was maybe like some old school astrologer around there that had dumped off a ton of books at some random used bookshop, you know, it's like, and so I don't even remember, like, you know, went to this bookshop and just kind of found the mother load of astrology books.

It's so crazy.
