First thing is when managers say they don't take initiative, what they're saying is, I expect more from these folks and they're not standing up.

When the moment calls for, they're not responding, they're not taking ownership.

The first thing the managers have to do is, For Gen Z, it is a first generation that is questioning, that is not ready to understand the known conventions of hierarchy, authority, position, and titles.

And that's why managers have to first talk to these Gen Zs and say, why a project or whatever they're doing, right? Why that matters.

And it has to go beyond just numbers, revenue and profits for the company and all that.

You need to really go and make them feel that anything they do, how it's actually impacting somebody.

your end customer, your end merchant, whoever that is, how is it impacting to them? If you are not there in the equation, what kind of pain points they are experiencing and how you're trying to bridge that gap.

This is the kind of connect the managers have to do because this generation doesn't believe in just saying, oh, you bring a million dollars.
