You know that chicken is a rapidly growing fast food category when McDonald's offers up a Chicken Big Mac.

I mean, they already have a chicken sandwich, but this was the Chicken Big Mac for a limited time only, which generally means it's not popular enough to keep on the regular menu.

Incidentally, the great Paul Simon once saw a menu item at a Chinese restaurant in New York that contained both chicken and egg.

I think after I heard that story, that's what turned me off chicken and egg together.

Funny, because the Golden Arches refused to include any chicken on their menus for decades, finally bowing to consumer pressure in 1983 with the introduction of, that's right, the McNugget.
