First thing is DeMarvion Overshawn is who I want to ask you about because it kind of Kind of blindsided me when he just kind of announced, oh, yeah, by the way, I'm the middle linebacker.
And so my question or the conversation I want to have first is, Is DeMarvion Overshawn's fit as your, quote, Mike linebacker, as opposed to, I'd have to Google in all the different 3-4 defenses, what do you call your other inside linebacker? Because you've got two inside, two outside, in theory, even though you're not in 3-4 all that often, whatever.
your two inside linebackers and the one calling the plays, and because he's the Mike, I guess he's the one on the strong side, whatever.
But his fit in that role, what do you think about when you heard him say, I'm the Mike linebacker?
In what way? I'm terrified just for, you know, listen, I have a theory, and this might be dead wrong.
I think in going into it, the way that Christian Parker said, has structured this defense with the personnel that they have, the way, you know, with the emphasis on the 4-I.
I mean, they got rid of Oso Digizua because they didn't think he could play 4-I.
I want to believe that Christian Parker and the staff was going to try and play run defense with five guys.
And then everybody else kind of, it's, yeah, we'll play run, but they're also pass rushers, cover guys, stuff like that.
I was always thinking, you know, I was thinking, okay, he's going to play with Quinn and Williams and Clark and Overton and those guys.
Even initially they listed Gary as a defensive lineman on the roster because I thought maybe he could slide inside.
