Dan and Grant come up with their own over/under lines for every team in the Eastern Conference that have NOTHING to do with wins and losses. Then, they make predictions off of those numbers…
all right so this is actually i picked this one because it feels kind of like a is it a swing factor? I'm not sure, but I want to know what Dyson Daniels is going to do as a shooter this year.
So I would like to set Dyson Daniels three point attempts per game over under at 2.0 for reference.
He was at 3.1 two years ago when the narrative of, Oh my God, Dyson Daniels might be an okay shooter began.
And then he was at one and a half, uh, last year which was when oh my god Dyson Daniels is an unplayable level of shooter uh took over the narrative for him so I'm setting it at two is he gonna attempt more or less than two threes per game I'm gonna say I'm gonna go under okay
that just that number feels hot unless you think that no because not even if you think you're gonna play him with Lou Dort Lou Dort's gonna be the guy that ends up taking the threes anyway
Otherwise, we're in a position where the contract is what it is, that that money's committed.
I don't care how good he is defensively or how much he develops as a role man, as a guard that essentially rolls like a big guy on offense, and that's his job.
I'm going over to just because I want to speak that into existence, so he's a viable player.
He makes the Hawks more interesting to me if you can actually play him, and he just has to be able to shoot.
I mean, this is one of those things, too, where we won't go this long on all of them, but...
this strikes me as an interesting one because even if he is over this number, do defenses care? Like, and how long does he need to be over it? Like I, I, what would the number, the number would have to be like eight for, for defenses to actually care.
I'm sure there's been something done and I haven't seen it, but like, what's the percentage and volume that you need to hit for defenses to kind of care about you? Cause I think I've read something where it's like around 32 or 33% on put like off the dribble threes, but I also don't know how many of those do you need to take.
yeah like at what point i guess at some point it has to become analytic analytically a good shot before coaches will scheme to care about it so uh he daniels won't get there but i'm hoping he gets over to
