With the Grizzlies having traded him to Portland this week, obviously, free agency also underway, Michael, I'm coming to you first.
Before free agency started, the Grizzlies exercised options on GG Jackson, Olivier Maxence Prosper.
Where do those two fit now in the team's plans, and how active do you expect the Grizzlies to be in free agency?
Well, they certainly are, they continue to be young pieces that are athletic that can, you know, be at the back end of your bench and, and in your rotation.
Um, cheap contracts so they're still manageable from that standpoint.
There's gonna have to be a roster consolidation, you know what I mean? Bobby Marks and the fine folks at ESPN have a chart right there what the Grizzlies off-season looks like as we speak right now.
And you look at the projected starting five, you got the reserves there.
I know it's, uh, kinda in small print, but, uh, where the Grizzlies are right now, projected salary of $175 million.
What's key about that is that that's above the salary cap, but it's below the first apron, below the tax.
So they still wanna operate within those margins obviously, but there's still some business to do.
But when you talk about GG Jackson and Omax Prosper, those are two guys that if you get out of training camp with those two still on your roster, then you know what you're gonna get in Omax, and GG still fit in the, uh, the, the, the timeline of being young, right in line with these guys.
Which is 18 is Cam Boozer, 19 is, uh, Kareem Lopez, 21 is GG, so it's still in that, in that timeframe.
And, uh, those are two great pieces to have towards the end of your bench.
