Minnesota Gophers are 1-0 in the Big Ten as they prepare for Big Noon Saturday and a date with the Michigan Wolverines this Saturday! Will the Minnesota Gophers win the Little Brown Jug at home for…
Thor NystromHostRoss BrendelHostI, of course, had a chance to go deep into the game with Manny Hill on early Sunday morning.
This is your first chance to react, at least in show form, as to what you saw late on Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
I would imagine, much like myself, overall, especially since the team was victorious, pretty darn pleased with the performance, I would suspect, from Thor.

Obviously, the late-night kick, traveling back the, the multiple time zones, and a game that you had to have, right? I mean, like, after dropping the home game to Mississippi State, you were gonna have to get back one of these other ones to try to have a season like we thought they potentially could.

And I, I have been a bit tepid coming out of that Mississippi State game, um, but, but this was a heck of a performance.

But going on the road to face a Washington team that has a quarterback that I think is ultimately gonna go on day two, De'Von Williams, whenever he comes out in the draft, and the different stuff that, that they can do, Washington, and a very, very difficult place to play.

Controlling that game, it, it got a little bit hairy near the end, but the, the Gophers jumped all over them early.

We, we were asking, uh, uh, Ross that for Drake Lindsey to go and have one of... a vintage performance on the road in a game, you know, you're double-digit underdogs, you had to have it.

They, the offense needed Drake Lindsey to have an amazing performance on Saturday, and they got it.
I believe it was after the first touchdown pass, may have been the second, but I'm pretty sure it was the first.
Did you see the look in his eyes when they zoomed in on him and he was looking at the Gopher sideline?
That was a, that was a Washington better not F around or they're gonna find out tonight type of look, and I love that.
And I love what the offense was able to do early in the first half, not as much in the second half, but I'm not gonna nitpick too much about that since I've already been down that road, and the Gophers obviously victorious, so that's the main thing.
I do wanna ask you one thing about going on the road, winning in a place that very few people have won at over the last three, four, five years.
What, what could the Gophers take from that, or perhaps what did they do well that they can do to replicate when they go to Purdue in a few weeks, when they go to Indiana, when they go to Penn State, and they go to Wisconsin? Because I'd like to think that they will beat Purdue, okay? Let's just say that they do.
I don't love playing that game in college football, but let's just say that they beat Purdue, so they get two Big Ten road wins out of the way.
To have a really successful season, I then start to look at it and say, "Okay, between Indiana, Penn State, and Wisconsin, how do you win at least one of those games, if not two?" And my biggest takeaway may just be it's the confidence factor knowing that you've done it, right? You did it in a slightly pretty hostile environment in Washington.
Hopefully, you're able to go to a slightly more sterile environment in West Lafayette and do the same thing.
