In the past, he studied things such as why men buy fast cars and what drives consumer behavior.
His work in the past few years, such as his book, The Parasitic Mind, has looked at wider societal issues and why we are facing decline.
After years of living in Montreal as a professor at Concordia University, he recently announced that he was joining the University of Mississippi, where he will serve as a scholar at the university's Declaration of Independence Center for the study of American Freedom.
