There are hundreds of diplomats and world leaders who are trying to travel to where I'm standing right now ahead of the United Nations General Assembly.

Even Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's arrival to New York City was delayed, and his office says he's going to miss events tonight because of that travel meltdown.

Hopefully it gets resolved.

And actually being a little bit assertive It turns out to be a way of actually you get some pushback and you might actually have a stronger negotiating position.

The strange thing about that is that while, yes, the exemplar of the person who's performed this would be Mark Carney, who in Canada has been very robust.

But Canada is now in a really expensive trade war with the US.

I mean, it's not a free hit if you actually try and face down Donald Trump.

I want to point out, I've been covering these attacks for a few years now.

Mark Carney himself calls incidents of anti-Semitism in Canada... specific and severe.

And I did another interview just a few weeks ago with the Jewish community here, and they believe more needs to be done.

Specifically, they want acts like this to be labeled terrorism the minute the police believe that they have the evidence.

On the first day of the fall session of Parliament, Prime Minister Mark Carney and his Liberal caucus wasted no time getting to work in what Carney has described as a crucial sitting of Parliament.

As Jeff Semple reports, this includes tabling the centerpiece of the government's agenda, the Building Canada Strong Act.

Parliament resumed for its fall session, the Prime Minister arriving with a newly elected Liberal MP in tow to face his political opposition for the first time in months.

U.S. President Donald Trump says he's working on a deal to buy potash from Belarus, claiming it will cost the U.S. less than buying it from Canada.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe has fired back at the comment, saying buying blood potash from Belarus supports Russian aggression.

It comes as Prime Minister Mark Carney heads to New York for the United Nations General Assembly.

As an illustration of how the worst day in government is better than the best day in opposition, uh, blah, blah, blah, how it's better to be in government than an opposition.

While Pierre Paglia was dealing with the fallout from the collapsing Carrie Lynn Findlay, uh, exercise in British Columbia, Mark Carney was getting a standing ovation from the European parliament for his speech.

Uh, we called for greater cooperation, um, between Canada and Europe.

Um, What do you think? How do you think Canadians are going to react to this? And not just on the day where they see their prime minister getting a standing O, but as things progress and as it looks like we are trying to shift toward more cooperation with Europe.

It was when he was addressing the handful of people in the caucus, I guess, that still think he's a viable leader.

And he said that Mark Carney has done nothing during his time as prime minister.

He's wandered all over the world, running up and down places and, you know, having meetings and photo ops, but done nothing.

I don't know why there wasn't a laugh track after that.

It was only a couple of days ago.

Maybe he's forgotten.

Maybe he never knew about the massive Churchill Falls power deal that the federal government under Mark Carney and the provinces of Quebec, Newfoundland, and, of course, Quebec.

But it is apparently the most massive power deal in North America, in the history of North America.

Maybe it'll be the Pope.

Maybe it'll be Mark Carney.

But Zoran is a special way of commanding and using attention to his own ends, right? To achieve his goals.

He knows how to get power and use it.

And stop treating every question about the plan like an attack on the country.

Carney is a politician.

He is not Canada.

Criticizing him does not make somebody less Canadian any more than criticizing Trump makes somebody less American.

It's getting better.

I mean, Carney was there, what, last month or something.

So I went.

And I spoke and I told the story about how Saudi Arabia has always been whispering in my ear.
