Dennis Prager on Why 58% of Democrats Embrace Socialism | Dennis Prager's Latest Thoughts | PragerU

Dennis, what's on your mind?

Oh, let me tell you, that's a provocative question because I have a lot on my mind, but I'll narrow it to one particular subject.

There was a, just this past week, there was a CBS poll that revealed that 58% of Democrats have a favorable view of socialism.

32% have a favorable view of capitalism.

That, Alan, and all of you watching or listening, is frightening.

That's the best word I can use.

The record of socialism in terms of human suffering, human death, human enslavement is the worst record in recorded history.

In one, I won't even say a century, inside of about 50 years, 100 million, 100 million people were murdered by socialists, by socialist slash communist regimes, China, USSR, Cambodia, Vietnam, basically everywhere that socialists took over.

Remember, the name of the Soviet Union was the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

That's very important.

Nazism came from the words National Socialism.

And this is not well known.

Hitler hated capitalism.

as much as he hated communism.

And the communists hated capitalism as much as they hated Nazism.

That's not well known.

They all hated capitalism because capitalism, obviously when done right, everything could be done wrong.

But when done right means the free market.

The free market means that the government owns little and individuals and companies own a lot less.

They hated private property.

Do you know that various democratic socialists, as they call themselves, they are in fact against private property.

As one of them put it, Let's see.

We are not for private property.

We are for communal property.

What? Can I say this? What the hell does that mean? What does communal property mean? The community owns all property.
