Some hard things are part of growing. Others come from staying stuck in patterns God is trying to lead us out of. You may not be able to skip every difficult season, but you can stop letting fear…
You know what I'm saying? One of the coolest things about my life, other than being Holly's husband and Graham and Elijah and Abby's dad, is getting to meet people who share things with me that are so deep and so tender and so touching, and usually they do it in such a short amount of time.
So when I meet somebody and they go to the church, or they've been blessed by the ministry of this church, I get the privilege of hearing from them, "Hey, I wasn't doing so good.
Um, I don't wanna go into all the details right now, but I just wanna say to your entire congregation, thank you.
I actually lost my child." And people would just say this, and it's so intense and it's so quick.
One day me and Holly were walking through the streets of Charleston, and it was the month of July, so it was very hot outside, and she had an ice cream cone.
And, uh, somebody walked up and said, "I know you." And Holly was like mid-lick.

[cheering]
Yeah.
That's right.
