Send us Fan Mail Briz comes on to talk all about the Life is Strange series of games. If you've ever been on the fence about this series, Briz will…
no yeah i don't think so i don't think so but i think you've laid the groundwork for why the games speak to you and why they're so important and why you want to uh play more of them um so maybe now we go back and i ask you this question what is a life is strange like what what are the main mechanics what's the how's the format you know give me the rundown especially you know start at the first game and then we'll we'll see where we can go from there but what is a life is strange
I'll see how well I can sum them up.
The franchise is kind of chaotic, but I would say the gist of it is you have a character that has or discovers that they have some sort of supernatural power, and And it is essentially them kind of dealing with this power.
They are generally in a five-episode or five-chapter kind of structure.
Uh, so they, uh, you know, the, the first one was, uh, episodic and I think they were, uh, the first three were all episodic where they would, you know, release an episode and then, you know, sometime later, Oh, I think it just lost power.
No, I still hear you.
Okay.
We still hear you.
My screens just went to sleep because I wasn't touching anything.
But yeah, they were episodic for a long time.
The most recent ones kind of dropped the episodes and went to a chapter format.
But there is...
I guess it's kind of like, you know, they have superpowers, but they're just normal people.
And it's like, how would just an average Joe kind of react in their daily lives if they had this special power all of a sudden sort of thing?
Is it a spoiler to kind of mention the special power? Probably not, right?
No, because it's in the trailers and everything.
So in the
first one, if I remember right, she can rewind time a little bit.
Yes.
So I don't think it's a spoiler to say Alex played an hour of it and he already knows a girl gets shot in the beginning of the game.
And the heat of that moment kind of discovers that she can rewind time.
That's a good time to find out.
That's a really good time to find out.
Yeah.
