The Dodgers Are Suddenly Playing With HOUSE MONEY... | Daily Dodgers News & Rumors

So let's get into game four.

The Dodgers take a two games to one lead after their three to one victory last night in Atlanta.

Dodgers one win away from a return to the National League Championship Series.

And man, what can you say about the lion? What can you say about Yoshinobu Yamamoto? Absolutely filthy.

doing what aces do, the unquestioned, unquestioned leader of that rotation.

Seven innings, one run, four hits, 10 strikeouts, a walk, 98 pitches, very tidy seven innings of work.

Just absolutely dominating the Braves hitters up and down, left and right, off speed pitch.

Braves really didn't seem to really hit the ball very hard at all as the Dodgers ended up getting the win for Yamamoto now.

8-1 in his career in the postseason.

2.14 ERA.

But look at that.

His last five playoff appearances.

That includes the relief appearance against the Blue Jays.

His last five playoff outings, four runs in 33 and two-third innings of work.

That comes out to a 1.07 ERA.

And you have to start thinking about it.

Listen, the Dodgers, I think, you know, are up there with some of the great pitchers of all time, especially post-season performances.

And I get it.

The era of Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale was very different than it is now, when guys, you were expected to pitch the whole nine innings.

And Koufax and Drysdale put out some legendary playoff performances.

And there was no Division Series or Wild Cards or even LCS.

It was all in the World Series.

And then, of course, Oral Hershiser, his magical run in 1988.

But you've got to start really now thinking about, when you start thinking about one of the great postseason pitchers in Dodger history, you've got to put Yamamoto up there.

I mean, you've got to even close to, if not next to, Sandy Koufax.
