Uh, who do we have pitching in this series?

We have Perdomo versus Glasnow on Friday.

Saturday is Skubal versus TBD.

Um, Saturday was supposed to be Logan Webb's day.

You throw Tarik Skubal out there, same answer.

You throw Tyler Glasnow out there.

Now, maybe he's the one that drops you down just a hair, but it is only a hair, and Blake Snell was certainly one of those guys.

Well- Now, all of a sudden, Blake Snell potentially could be unavailable to fill that role.

We talked about it in the opening segment, so I'm not gonna spend a ton of time going over it again.

But you're gonna throw, in, in, in probably this order, but not necessarily in this order.

You're gonna throw Tarik Skubal, Yamamoto, and Tyler Glasnow, we'll see about Blake Snell, at Milwaukee, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Diego.

They can't match up with that.

Uh, guys who made at least 10 starts each of the last two years.

That would be Gavin Williams, Jakub Mierzewski, Cade Cavalli, Cam Schlittler, Emerson Hancock, Bryce Miller, Tyler Glasnow, Drew Rasmussen, Walker Buehler, and Sean Burke.

A lot of pitchers who were the guys we were talking about for large portions of this season.

Mierzewski of course being the only one who was also on that ERA improver leaderboard, which is pretty interesting, especially in the context of this top guy.

I think he's still more of a home streamer for me, you know? And I, I don't know if the price is necessarily going to be lined up with that kind of usage, because there were some encouraging signs of growth this year that other people might be willing to pay a little bit more for than I'm willing to pay

Uh, rounding out this list, Bryce Miller and Tyler Glasnow.

Nice improvements, but still some significant injury questions.

Moving on to the last game, Giants take on the Dodgers.

For this game, you have a matchup between Perdomo and Glasnow.

For the pricing, Dodgers are minus $3.

Giants are plus 265.

So far this season he has made three appearances, two very good ones, and he got shelled the last start against the Padres, four and two-thirds, 10 hits, five earned runs.

Is he good? We don't know.

Uh, Glasnow, though, has barely pitched this season, and recently he has been not great since coming back from injury.

He's made four starts, and he has allowed a total of 12 earned runs in those outings.

I asked about this at the time.

I was like, "Isn't this because, is this because you're, you're in order now for the postseason?" [laughs] Because now it's Skubal, Yamamoto, Snell, Glasnow.

And they're like, "Well, we have time." Like you know, he, he didn't-

Mm-hmm

[laughs]

Um, Snell, Blake Snell on Wednesday is pitching on four days' rest.

Well, you forget like h- you know, they, they sort of always try to bake in extra rest, but these guys can also go on four days' rest, especially like Skubal and Snell, and Glasnow too.

Um, so like that's a thing.

Is he good? We don't know.

Glasnow, though, has barely pitched this season, and recently he has been not great since coming back from injury.

He's made four starts, and he has allowed a total of 12 earned runs in those outings.

So, I don't really trust either pitcher in this game.

The Dodgers could still get medical imaging on this when they get back to Los Angeles on Friday.

And the real problem here is, that for everything else that's been going wrong with the Dodgers lately, they had this one constant, which was that the four guys at the top of their rotation, Tarek Skubal, Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Tyler Glasnow, were all healthy, were all, for the most part, pitching well, and were going to give them this core strength of starting pitching to build off of just like they had during their World Series run last year.

And now there's a question mark with Blake Snell, There's at least a half question mark with Tyler Glasnow, who did not come to Cincinnati this week from Miami and said he flew straight back home after he had that Miami start where there were some questions about how he was feeling physically.

Dave Roberts did on that point try to calm the waters.

He said Glasnow threw a bullpen session today.

And I think that matters as much as.

as almost the availability part with this because it's – like the reason I've been skeptical of the Dodgers World Series chances is not because I didn't think that the pitching isn't going to be good enough, but like because the bar of what good enough is going to be or is going to have to be looks like it's going to be so high that to just have three or four guys be able to make it through an entire October, let alone these last couple weeks of the regular season, pitching at that level – is really difficult and really unlikely, even for a rotation that has two, two times a young award winners and a world series MVP.

And another guy in Tyler Glasnow, who when he's right is one of the most talented raw pitchers in baseball.

It never really seems to.

You know, Dodgers go off a lot of analytics too, but I don't know, you know, I feel like, you know, the Sheehan's and the Glasnow's, I mean, can they be a closer? I mean, they're more long, long ending guys.

I

can see them coming out of the bullpen, but I don't know about a closer.

And I know recently things have been going around where who's bad luck, who's this, who's that.

It's like, I'm not here to talk crap.

I just genuinely, as a fan watching games the way that I do, When Kirsch was calling Glasnow pitching, I looked at Glasnow's pitching completely different.

I like learned so much.

Well, like you said, Roki Sasaki is sort of that wild card in all of this.

If he is able to go and he's able to be effective, then you can still have a starting rotation of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tarek Skubal, Tyler Glasnow, or some bullpen situation, and Roki Sasaki.

That looks like championship caliber to me.

Yeah, they've got an embarrassment of actually healthy riches.
