Tyler Mahle

Now, I will say this, the Braves' starting pitching beyond sale, it's been a question and an issue all season long.

But Tyler Mahle has been a great addition for them.

He now looks like a legitimate number two starter for the postseason.

Grant Holmes has been good.

But we do know for sure they tried to get deGrom.

He rejected it, and whether Strider was the guy going back, yes, that's been reported a few times now, and though I didn't have it, I don't doubt that there was some truth to that.

So it turns out that deGrom has had a less consistent second half, though he was really good yesterday, and Tyler Mahle's been tremendous for them.

So sometimes these things work out even though you don't expect them to work out in a certain fashion.

I mean, they were essentially giving it to him, but he took it, and you get that hit through the left side and you score two runs there.

And at that point, I was already feeling pretty good, 'cause Tyler Mahle is on the mound, and he was looking fantastic.

Uh, so even at three to one, I, I, I was feeling, feeling great.

But then you go on to do a little bit more, and you love, you love to see that.

Yeah.

All right.

In just a minute I want to talk about Tyler Mahle's outing and just, we saw him do s- a little bit of different stuff, and I think the game state played a part of that.

He gives up an unearned run and five [chuckles] earned runs in this one as there was a pair of errors out there in the field by Grant Holman.

And for the Braves, Tyler Mahle continues to be tremendous with the Braves.

Gives up a solo home run in seven innings of work.

Bryce Harper, 28th home run of the season.

And these aren't necessarily guys who need to turn it on.

Like, in the case of Tyler Mahle, he's been that guy.

He needs to continue to be that guy, right? He needs to continue to be that number two.

Didier Fuentes has been that guy.

Like, if you get Drake back to early season Drake that we saw this year, a- along with Acuna and Olsen, I feel really good about this offensive's chances.

So those are three for me.

I, I'd say Drake, Tyler Mahle, and Fuentes, along with a great sale Acuna and Olsen, I think the Braves have a great chance to make a deep run in the postseason.

Another one from Nathan at Bowhunter who says, "Why do you think Walt let Fuentes pitch to Schwarber with a base open? Could have possibly, uh, been Mattingly, that Mattingly pitched to Acuna the day before.

This had to be the game that you won with Luzardo going tomorrow.

Even though Mallee's been great and Mallee can certainly give you a chance to win-

That's, I was, I was trying to think magic number in my head while I was talking about something else.

Like Jake said, hopefully you can figure out some offense there.

I mean, you know, I, I, I know Chris Sale's gonna be good.

I think Tyler Mahle's gonna be good.

I don't know about anybody else It was a pretty good night from the bullpen as well.

We need to say that.

Let's continue to put the pedal to the metal.

Let's get the job done.

Tyler Mahle on the mound tomorrow, another real good opportunity for him to show his mettle as being a game two type starter in big moments.

But also take a moment and just enjoy it.

He has now been scratched, and it's TBD for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Meanwhile, Tyler Mahle goes for the Braves.

This was an opening number of the Atlanta Braves being a slim underdog.

Now they have flipped to being between -118, seeing as low as -115 to -125, -105 to plus 110.

You could probably go with someone like Holman who's been able to give you a little bit of length in the past.

They put him on the roster very recently and Mr.

Grant Holman, but what are you gonna be able to expect there? Who knows? You take a look at what Tyler Mahle has done this season.

Overall, the numbers aren't gonna blow you away.
