This February 2022 episode of **Doctor Who Literature** was pulled from the Spotify archive about 18 months ago. This was very early days for **DWLit** and the audio quality is tragically poor in…
Well, hi everybody.
I have been busy over in the Trap One studios, and I do not have a new Doctor Who Literature episode out for this week.
What I'm going to post instead is a repost of one of the episodes that was taken from the Spotify archives.
The episode was originally recorded and released in 2022.
My guest is Stacey Smith.
It was her second time on the show.
This is one of my favorite of the Target books, and I'm sorry that the show was taken down from the Spotify archives, but my original posting of the show did have some copyrighted music, which is unclearable.
What I have done for this repost is strip all of the musical cues from the original episode.
And I have also removed my original intro and outro material, which is no longer relevant here in 2026.
What you will hear first is my audio essay about the novelization and then my interview with Stacy following that.
That was the original format for the show up until about episode 17 or so.
You will notice the microphone quality is very poor.
I ditched that microphone a very long time ago, about four years ago now, as we sit here in June of 2026.
This is notable, especially during the audio essay, but even more so during my interview with Stacey, where there's a notable audio difference between the quality of her voice and the quality of my voice.
I no longer have the raw audio tracks of just my voice and just Stacey's voice from Zencaster.
Those were lost as part of the files that were never recovered from my hard drive crash, so I am not able to go back and remix that audio from scratch.
What we have is what we have.
For the same reason, I am also not able to repost episode 11, which is also missing from the Spotify archives.
I no longer have a complete copy of that show, just the interview with Ross Aiken.
I will get around to reposting episode 11 at some point, but that is going to require me to re-record my audio essay for that book, The Curse of Peladon.
That will be a project for another day.
Other than these preliminaries, if you have never heard episode 13 before, Doctor Who and the Giant Robot, an episode that was pulled from the Spotify archives about a year or a year and a half ago, this will be your first chance to hear the episode.
Audio quality aside, I think it is remarkably good work, so please Enjoy, and let's go back in time to 2022, and let's get to it.
