Fourth Doctor

We've also got CBeebies, as you mentioned, and the latest on the Doctor Who tender.

But two little bits of... news to hit right at the top Matt the fourth Doctor Action figure has come out with his product enterprise out of scale scarf

that's

correct you've done your review of that it was interesting watching it because he looks magnificent he's a

First off, very, very small.

I hope you got your fourth Doctor figure I mentioned last episode because he sold out within a day again.

It's actually crazy how well these sets are selling.

And that's good crazy because it shows his popularity.

So we've got our viewpoint character, Dr.

Fourth Doctor and his companion, the lighthouse keepers, who are three of them, and then we've got three survivors from the ship.

And one of these survivors is an industrialist.

Right.

Well, pro- probably least, probably quite least, actually.

But no, I just think, actually, one thing I do love about this story, I mentioned it a couple of times, but it does feel, and I like the strangeness of it, it feels like a throwback to Season 11, but it's got, it's got the Fourth Doctor in it for some reason.

I mean, Sa- Sarah fits, but, and, but yeah, the, the, this is a kind of a, this is the Fourth Doctor, but kind of playing at being the Third Doctor on a jolly.

And, uh, there's something just kind of really unique about that that you don't get elsewhere in, uh, the Fourth Doctor era.

So yeah, I'm gonna just kind of throw out just the kind of the, the kind of the unique one-off tone of this one, um, in the kind of the Hinchcliffe/Holmes era.

You, didn't you take the Fourth Doctor back to Italy, Rob?

Oh, I did, but that was 1979.

That was a bit different.

The Chameleon Empire, featuring the Fifth Doctor, Tegan, Turlough and Chameleon.

The comic strip adaptations, Volume 1, featuring the Fourth Doctor and Sharon.

Gallifrey Time War, Volume 2.

On Blu-ray, we have The Collection, Season 18.

Is this one of the best directed stories ever?

I think I said this in the fourth Doctor Strictly special, right? That this is a mode of Doctor Who that just lands so perfectly with me.

That mix of Robert Bank Stewart, Douglas Canfield and Jeffrey Bergen.

Those three together with this and Zygons.

So it doesn't quite sound like the instrument it is as you would normally recognise it.

And I think that sense of being off beat or off kilter really adds a lot to what you're watching as well.

But there's a reason beyond just the story itself, which I talked about plenty in the Fourth Doctor special, which is that I went on one of my birthdays, I can't remember if it was 10, 11 maybe, went up to the Doctor Who exhibition in Llangollen in North Wales.

And it was just one of those birthdays that's like the best day of your life ever, you know? So my dad was in a wheelchair.

...

the Fourth Doctor just seems [laughs] he seems up for anything, I think.

That's true.

That's...

I feel like the, the Fourth Doctor is the most, like, uh, almost the most pansexual-

Hmm

... coded of all the...

If I forgot, I might have done.

But the fourth Doctor figure, which I think is probably the most important classic set, I believe goes on sale today slash tomorrow.

I'm going to look this up right now.

Well, I'm recording this again the night before.

Even better.

So when you hear this, it won't be sold out.

But the fourth Doctor set, season 14, is up on Character Options' website now.

If you bought set three, which is the Liz Short and Primord, which, by the way, sold out, the classic set sold out as well, they've got to be so happy with how well these sets are performing, and rightfully so.
