And it ain't just because I don't like Sophie Aldred, 'cause, you know, she seems nice.

I think I have an answer for this.

I think it's because Matthew Waterhouse was on the back foot with Tom Baker and Lalla Ward, [laughs] so he's trying to give a performance, and because they're really good actors.

Suddenly he's palling up with inexperienced Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding, and he's the lead, right? He's the one that's been in it the longest.

So suddenly there's this weird arrogance in his performance in Peter Davison's time, where he sort of feels [laughs] like he's shepherding the new boy.

She's on the prehistoric landscape going, OK, if everyone could just take this.

And poor Janet Fielding's playing it all for real.

There's no hint of irony in her

performance.

Well, I was going to say Janet Fielding because I found that Tegan, the character, kept me going in this season of The Fifth Doctor.

it seems to be the top of du jour, Mark Strickland's performance, particularly in front of us, but also I thought in Planet of Fire was really, really good.

So I'm going to go and give it to him.

And the other reason why is that I'm pretty sure that I've given it to Janet Fielding the last two seasons.

But for some reason, the Blu-ray range never selects those actors to do those kind of shows.

Because all the Davison team have got is, oh, Peter Davison and Janet Fielding have a fractious relation.
