You got second place in Blizzard's Rock the Cabinet contest and ended up having your mod officially adapted into StarCraft II.

Yeah, so real quick, just for people who aren't familiar with StarCraft, the mission is Cradle of Death, and it was added to the co-op mission pool.

So I had like a job, a standard college job where I was like doing roofing and stuff like that while going to college for computer information systems, which is basically a CS degree, but more focused on databases and statistics.

And I ended up having some downtime where like was the off season at work and I was on college break when they were running this contest for making a custom mission for this co-op mode.

I would record trailers for other people's games and playtest them and get feedback.

But then there was this guy who was more of a YouTuber and he wanted help making his own mission.

And I sort of just accidentally, because I had this moment of spare time, I accidentally ended up investing full time into it.

And because I was in the community playtesting everyone else's level, I started to realize that what I was making seemed as good as some of the best games that other people were making.

To make a long story short, they had several stages to the competition, and one was they select the top 10, and I got picked by the judges for the top 10.

Then they had a public vote where anyone in the community could playtest those games, and I ended up getting number one in the player voting by a pretty good margin.

And so fast forward a bit, there's the next stage where the judges have to pick their winners.
