And then from your house of cats, you select a party of up to four cats, give them all a class collar to adapt their base stats and moves into something more familiar, and you take them out on runs that consist of finding stuff to equip your cats with, various elemental hazards and encounters to overcome, and of course, battles to be fought and bosses to fell.

Now, it wasn't gonna be an immediate slam dunk for me because whilst my love of Ed McMillen's other games are widely known, I have also said many times that I just don't get on well with strategy games.

The illustration focused on the titular Isaac crying on the floor with an S-two ball within arm's reach.

Christine then explained herself that when McMillen had asked her to illustrate Isaac, she watched several videos about the game made by the WatchMojo YouTube channel to learn more.

And, you know, maybe I'm slower than some to catch up to some of that, but I still think that, you know, there is such an overwhelming amount of content here at launch that this is an easy, it's easily a hundred hour game.

And I don't, want obviously want more dlc but i'm not even at the point where i'm thinking i need dlc you know and i think that that's one of the best compliments i can give it because it took them a while to make this and this was in development for ages uh but that shows in a level of quality and depth that um is not always there with these types of experiences and like you said i I love Binding of Isaac, one of my favorite games of all times, but Mugenics, I think, if I was only to have one Edmund McMillan game in my top 10, Mugenics is easily there because of just the variety and the gameplay potential for those various strategies.

Um, and yeah, there's also then like the meta aspect of it back at the house that you have and how you can fix that up and benefit future runs that you have.

And then at the same time, like even once you've amassed this litter of, uh, you know, veteran cats and whatnot that are essentially just using them to like breed the next generation of, uh, cats with different abilities, um, then you can get attacked by this like super powered boss i don't know if you've gotten to that point yet but then you have to defend your house from this super powered boss and that's when you can actually like utilize your veterans in a more direct way than just have them being you know Breeder breeders, essentially, which, again, just like opens up this whole entire aspect that for the first however many tens of hours you didn't even know was a facet of gameplay.
