yeah I did I did like a Lake George camp up in the Adirondacks I feel like that was a place where I actually like did some spin fishing and really enjoyed that and that was part of part of my fishing journey a little bit yeah you go you went to where the fish at Heather You went to Jewish summer camp, right? No, it

actually wasn't a Jewish summer camp.

It might as well have been.

After a cool start to the week, we enjoyed some milder weather yesterday while a decaying cold front settled south and then stalled across the region with a few morning showers and sprinkles yesterday and then some lingering patches of clouds through the day.

This morning finds what's left of that front close to Route 2, then westward through the Adirondacks, featuring some areas of dense fog, while it's a bit milder with some periods of clouds to the south.

The front extends west to the Ohio Valley, where a few ripples of low pressure are tracking east along the front.

This will cause clouds to increase and lower, while showers develop toward midday in New York south of the Adirondacks, progressing mostly south of Route 4 eastward this afternoon into this evening through southern Vermont and southern New Hampshire.

Farther north, a few showers may briefly dampen things this afternoon, but the chances are much lower and they'll be moving out tonight.

Helping to usher these showers and clouds out of the region will be a fairly cool area of high pressure building southeast from central Canada, still to our west tomorrow morning north of the Great Lakes, covering Ontario and heading east, centered just to our north through Quebec Friday night into Saturday morning.

Now to the details of the forecast.

Some patchy dense morning fog, then limited breaks of morning sun giving way to thickening clouds.

Up in the Adirondacks, you can't really go very far without talking to somebody who's had some type of encounter or is related to somebody who's seen a Bigfoot or something weird has happened in the woods.

So that got me going initially.

And then... essentially when my first marriage kind of started falling apart i found heading into the woods and spending time there to be a lot more of a peaceful choice and i began kind of watching shows and listening to people talk and tell their stories and kind of started pinpointing where i should go hunting and how to get out there and how to get after them and man that's addicting man getting out there and getting in the bush and looking for these things absolutely

They went back and maybe even more beadwork.

They're like, that's a bark eater.

And the Adirondacks, a lot of the roads that we drive on are old Indian trails.

And if you look at a map, they cut out gigantic areas.

The sunrise this morning was at 6.32, setting at 6.57 this evening, length of the day shortening to 12 hours and 25 minutes.

Some patches of dense fog this morning will give way to limited breaks of sun, but mostly cloudy skies, showers developing in New York south of the Adirondacks midday, spreading east, expanding north to Route 4 this afternoon, decreasing to scattered farther north, only spotty in Quebec, Highs 70 to 75.

Today's showers will cover about 70 to 90 percent of the area south of the Adirondacks and Route 4, 2 to 4 tenths of an inch, decreasing to just scattered north of Route 4 and just spotty in Quebec with amounts less than a tenth of an inch.

Those showers will be moving out tonight and cool high pressure moves back in.

That means another chance of some scattered frost in the cold spots Friday night into Saturday morning.

We are watching some showers to our west.

It looks like they'll reach parts of New York State, especially south of the Adirondacks, midday and afternoon, spreading east across Vermont and New Hampshire, mostly from Route 4 south, then scattered farther north, only spotty in Quebec.

It'll be mild, highs 70 to 75.

Any showers move out tonight and then tomorrow.

Looks like a fresh northwest wind means increasing amounts of sunshine, but a cool day.

Highs ranging from the low 60s to low 70s north to south.

For hikers headed to the mountains, clouds will be thickening and lowering, giving a good chance of showers to the southern Green Mountains and Berkshires and then just some scattered showers for the Adirondacks, northern Green and White Mountains.

Southwesterly winds will become west nothing very strong, 10 to 15 mph, near 60 at 4,000 feet, in the low 50s at 6,000 feet.

It's interesting, like you said, you didn't really dive into it until you were out of there.

I grew up in upstate New York and the Adirondacks meant nothing to me until I left, which is wild to think about, right? So

I'm curious,

Dude, when we stayed at that spot in Tennessee, when we were up in the Smoky Mountains, how do I describe this? It kind of had a wraparound deck because the house was built on the side of a mountain.

Yeah.

And he just used to bring Landjager to family get togethers.

We had a camp in the Adirondacks and that was like where we all met up.

And growing up, it was just this sausage snack that I loved and I ate and it meant nothing to me apart from I was just a kid who was hungry and loved sausage, you know? And so I grew up, you know, I got older, believe it or not.

And Doug kept bringing Lawn Dagger to our get togethers.
