Anfernee Simons On Joining LeBron And Jaylen Brown In Philly & Adjusting To A New Role

Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady welcome fellow Florida native and new Philadelphia 76ers guard Anfernee Simons to *The Cousins* to discuss joining a revamped Sixers roster featuring LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, and Tyrese Maxey, what it takes to fit alongside superstar talent, and the lessons Damian Lillard taught him during their years together in Portland. Anfernee opens up about embracing different roles throughout his career, while Vince and T-Mac explain why sacrificing your ego and adapting your game is what separates players who last in the NBA from those who don't. They also share advice on what it's like playing with LeBron and the mindset required to thrive on a championship contender. Plus, Anfernee looks back on winning the 2021 NBA Dunk Contest with his unforgettable "kiss the rim" dunk, explains what it was like being named after Penny Hardaway, and reveals why Tracy McGrady—not Penny—became the player he modeled his game after. In a full-circle moment, T-Mac reflects on how Penny inspired his own career and why he remains one of his all-time favorite players. 00:00 – Intro 01:51 – Thoughts On The Rebuilt Philly Roster 12:21 – FanDuel "Pick A Side" 18:42 – Anfernee Simons Joins *The Cousins* 23:00 – LeBron Signing With Philly 25:57 – Understanding His Sixth Man Role 30:46 – Maintaining Confidence Through A Trade 34:32 – What’s Going On In The Off Season 38:07 – Advice On How To Succeed Alongside LeBron 41:08 – 2021 NBA Dunk Contest Champion 45:45 – Top Music Artists 49:48 – Court Connections 56:20 – NHTSA: Career High Of 43 Points  59:24 – Wrap Follow Cousins on Social Media:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vinceandtmac/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@vinceandtmac X: https://x.com/VinceAndTmac Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/VinceAndTMac/ Much love to our sponsors: **FanDuel**: From the opening whistle to the final kick, Let There Be Goals on FanDuel.
