It's interesting.

I think he's kind of almost like an inverse of the player development arc of Norman Powell from a decade ago where Norm came in and his biggest strength from day one was if he attacks a tilted defense on the second side when it swings to him, that defense is screwed.

He's too fast.

The first step is too explosive and he's dunking on your head after a dribble or two before you even know what's happened.

We were like, oh, he could be out the whole year.

James Harden, if it's a Zubats, Norman Powell, you know, came out first season at the Intuit Dome and made us a 50-win team.

Of course, we did end up getting Kawhi back midway through the season, but they already kept us in the mix because of the sheer brilliance and consistency of a James Harden, because of the breakout, best season of his career at the time from Norman Powell, because of the best season of Zubats' career, and some really solid contributions from guys like Chris Dunn, Derrick Jones Jr., I mean, it was a fun season.

So what I'm saying to everybody is we don't have many expectations this season.

In fact, everyone thinks we're going to be trash.

Again, not somebody that you can look at and say, oh, we can't possibly move on from this guy, but it does provide a needed value to this team.

With Modest and Caleb Wilson now occupying the forwards roles, Norman Powell now there as the two, the starting two, it now makes Isaac Okoro's role a lot more simple, and that's where we're going to start from.

We don't need Isaac Aquaro anymore to be something he's not.

We don't need him to be out there and to be a person that provides double-digit scoring for the Bulls.

Then you make the next pass and come to that.

Another way that we can also deal with the zone defense is overload one side of the defense, right? It takes Giddy near the slot, which you can work on that one.

Norman Powell's going to be out on the wing.

You put Caleb on the baseline, Modis on the weak side, and now you have Nick Claxton Low on the opposite side of that as well.

There is a ceiling there, but maybe not if they could go out and find someone at the deadline is if they were hovering around, if they had a pulse of, You know they'd go out there and do something.

How about a player from Chicago? Norman Powell? Can I interest you in a little Norman Powell? Let me tell you why it would make a little sense and why the Warriors shooting guards could make the case that it's completely irrelevant.

I got excited talking about Billy Donovan there.

They bring him in for another player who has been talked about as a trade piece.

Caleb Wilson looks like he would be a monster in transition.

Matas is very athletic and should be very good in transition.

And then Norm Powell has always liked to play at like faster paces, just generally.

Like he's always been at his best, like last year in Miami when he played at a fast pace or like early in his career in Portland when they played at like faster paces, Norm Powell was kind of at his best.

I just wrote about this recently.

I said I'd really love to see a Norman Powell reunion if that's a possibility.

He's on a cheap deal.

We could easily match that money and get less money back in Norman Powell.

We just kind of have to wait until he's available to be traded on the market again, but I would entertain that in a heartbeat.

I think he's a much better fit.

I think you can still reward Jacoby Walter and give him the starting role if you decide he fits better in the starting lineup.

and then bring Norman Powell in as the explosive scorer off the bench.

But he also saw a big uptick in minutes from about 14 a night to 26, going from about 14 minutes to 26 a night.

Having to step up and take on a bigger role especially in situations where Tyler Hero and Norman Powell were out of the lineup, which was unfortunately pretty frequent last year.

He's shown he can handle more responsibility in the rotation.

And I would say he's actually, I mean, I would make the argument that he played better when he had more time to get going in the game versus when he had less time.
