Now, I came across a rather unusual verse in Ecclesiastes 9, verse 11, where King Solomon says, I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill, but time and chance happen to them all." So Solomon makes an interesting observation about life, that the fastest runner doesn't always win the race, the strongest army doesn't always win the battle, and the wisest person doesn't necessarily have bread on the table.
