He’s deeply unpopular and ditto for his economy, so why is Donald Trump the center piece of the GOP’s midterm pitch? Plus, another artificial intelligence employee quits over safety concerns. Learn…
With less than eight weeks to go until the midterms, President Trump is more unpopular than ever.
His approval rating is at a record low, and even some Republicans are starting to sour on his job performance.
Now, despite that, Trump is throwing a two-day GOP midterm convention extravaganza.
The president still delivering his keynote address right now, but he's sticking to the theme of the night, which is praising himself and painting the Democrats as the boogeyman.
The choice in this election is very, very simple.
Democrats are asking you to vote for their failed far-left agenda, it's never worked, that destroyed your finances and delivered you four years of disaster, bedlam, and death under sleepy Joe Biden.
[booing] And I'm asking you to let us finish the job we began.
Pretend that I'm on the ballot.
I'm on the ballot.
[cheering] I'm on the ballot.
Just one more time, because if we lose, you're going to lose your border, you're going to lose your tax cuts, you're going to lose your safety and security, you're going to lose your wealth.
Our country is going through hell.
You will be going through hell just like you did just two years ago.
Now, before we open it up to the table here, we invite you at home to join the debate.
Uh, the president is, uh, doing, uh, some combination of a speech that's supposed to rally his base, uh, demonize Democrats.
The, the question is, is pitching the golden age of America right now to Americans gonna work?
Well, first I almost have to re- uh, stifle laughter at him still calling Joe Biden Sleepy Joe, when practically every day we see video of Donald Trump asleep somewhere, in basketball games, at the Oval Office.
