Back 2 Devy Episode 214: Open Discussion

Uh, Corey and I will be moving our ranking and update till next week.

Although, we might pivot from that.

We'll talk on the back end because this is the first week of conference play.

This is, to me for devy, this is when the evaluations truly start.

And you know, uh, these Power Four teams that play these easy D5 schedules.

Talking about like Georgia versus Tennessee State, you know? The expectations, they blow the doors off, you know? And so if they, when they do that you're like, "Good job.

Like this was the expectation.

You met it." Um, but conference play is when you truly get to see like players separate themselves.

Um, so if you open up PFF and you see that there's, I don't know, 50 to 60 running backs averaging eight yards per carry.

That number's gonna go down to like maybe 10 to 20, and they're all gonna be T5 guys.

Um, so very excited about that coming up.

Um, for the first part of open discussion, uh, I listened to Campus Life today.

Um, and you talked about Dylan Raiola a little bit.

I was also impressed with his gameplay.

And I just wanted to know what you thought about his devy prospects were.

I know you kinda speculated about he could start the rest of the year and talked about how good he was.

But I didn't hear you talk about the devy angle for him.

So I was wondering what you thought about him.

Yeah, we talked about this when he initially, uh, transferred to Oregon.

And I thought we'd have a little more runway on this.

But-

Yeah

... he's a guy that, um, I thought this was a really nice buy opportunity because I think people didn't wanna hold him any longer, 'cause they hadn't really st- seen a depreciation in value.

Again, you'd lo- you'd lost value if you took Dylan Raiola over the past couple years of drafts.

So I thought we'd have some runway to be able to build into this, 'cause you knew as soon as he got that starting job that people would be excited about it.
