It's just an interesting choice in this lineup, which is Lee Daniels for Precious.

Real quick, I just want to, like, lay some tables when we are talking about Precious.

I think the first table we should lay is that we are white people talking about this movie, and this is a... entirely different subject for for black viewers for for black audience members for like the black community to do with lee daniels what they will in especially when it comes to specifically this movie

because the number one thing, because this was the first movie that I watched for this lineup, and the first thing I sent to you and Morgan is, I'm really struggling with this, because it is the best possible version of what it can be, and boy, howdy, do I not like what it is.

very on its very 2009 like from the very opening beat you're like this uses like filmmaking styles and like even just like dialogue rhythm but like I don't really see so much anymore um that like feels very of its time in a way that like some of the other movies in this category don't really have that sense like um like and like inglorious bastards and like the hurt locker like have some of that in them but it is like the actual like filmmaking kind of doesn't exist in this like oh i could like turn this on and tell when this movie was made on the wood it's like um which isn't even necessarily a bad thing but it is kind of like jarring like watch a lot of things that are coming out now and like things that are new releases watch this and be used to just like make movies very differently in a honestly like not that long ago like in the grand scheme of things like that's very interesting and yeah it's just like it's yeah it's a tough watch both in like the difficult subject matter and also just in the like I'm not sure like how I'm feeling about, like, the actual filmmaking and whether or not it is successful.

So the film follows the titular character, Precious Johnson, who is a overweight 16-year-old living in Harlem who is pregnant with her second child.
