Vera Farmiga

That's how bad this year was.

The LA Film Critics Association gave it to Vera Farmiga for Down to the Bone, a movie that was never going to get Oscar nominations.

The runner-up in New York was Zhang Zai, not for Memoirs of a Geisha, but for 2046, which she's very good in.

She's good in that, yeah.

Yeah.

I think on paper, the idea of it being like Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as like this horror franchise, like that's a really cool idea.

But the thing is like the thing that works with the franchises we love, right? Like later on, we'll hear from Mackenzie who's doing the front of the 13th movies and even our friend, the bitch master, Freddy Krueger and Halloween.

These movies are designed to stand alone and, Where here, I feel like we're being spoon-fed Avengers baby food a little bit.

The interesting thing with that, the difference with Departed as well, is that's a new relationship in Departed.

Matt Damon's character meets Vera Farmiga in the duration of the story.

That's not the case in Final Affairs.

They're already together.

standout, absolutely.

Especially when you have Vera Farmiga, who has an incredible scene with her at the...

She's a

powerhouse in this.

It's enough to get you from set piece to set piece.

And yeah, that's just something kind of... fun and silly about these like even as it gets silly at the end it's less scary but there is just something kind of like enjoyable in a way that i think i've said this about when we discussed some of the other ones when we did the whole series is that on the whole even though it's some way it's some ways it's like less classy or less well crafted than a than the best of the conjuring movies um And those characters in The Conjuring are more distinct from Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson just being very good actors.

This kind of sewed it up for me that I prefer these movies to The Conjuring.

I think they're just more fun, less pretentious, and more effective at what they're trying to do.

Not to besmirch my Warren friends.

very much looking forward to the prequel that does not feature my Warren friends.

And although it does feature them, but they're not going to be fear of Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson.

I think they should have done like a pen 15 situation and just have them play them as

the horror films.
