exactly also a couple more influences for this Tron was a big one I saw online Strange Days the Catherine Bigelow film but I was not able to find a source for that so I'm gonna say maybe

Ghost in the Shell did that come out before

uh i think so the only anime one i actually got a name for was akira but other than that it was just like in general the idea of anime

Not underrated, but underseen.

Yeah, I'm not huge on Catherine Bigelow, but that's a very good movie.

I love that as a guess.

And in a weird way, it's close.

And then the last one is near dark Catherine Bigelow vampire movie.

I'd like another movie that I love.

I love how magical that movie feels, even though there's no, I mean, there's practical effects, but there's no, like, it's not fantastic.

And like, i'm always like i want to be able to do that you know i think that's why it's like it feels like a magic trick to make something that is ground that's set in our world but feels like fantasy and i think she does it so well in that film and then you know taking vampire tropes and stuff like that and finding something new like you know almost like hillbilly redneck vampires you know and in a way that's still appealing you know and cool and interesting and yeah it's one that like i discovered later but i think it's i think it's my favorite film film of hers that that that she's done yeah and i think you know i was severing for halloween one year the bill paxton character like that just because that scene with them in the the saloon is just crazy in its own right.

And so, yeah, I think anyone, especially around Halloween, if you're looking for a different kind of vampire movie, I can't recommend near dark enough.

We were recovering from having had a very large crowd for a family celebration last week before so this was a little bit lower key but all the usual foods were there so i'm uh trying to diet a little bit afterwards

we had a family watch party with some friends of the uh catherine bigelow movie house of dynamite at which we served mexican food because nothing says happy jewish new year like mexican food and a movie about

nuclear armageddon so Yeah, well, that and Chinese food on Christmas, you know, which is a well-documented Jewish tradition as well.
