Anyways, my point being is that it's very easy when the new year comes and t- we go through Tishrei, we're like, "Ah, that's it.
It's gon- ...
All the ...
No more pain.
No more struggle.
No more of this hard work that I'm doing.
This year's new year, it's gonna be great.
I feel it, tangible, like, it's gonna be s- all this powerful light." And then Bereishit comes, and it's, feels like ...
I know for me, I feel that every time, Bereishit.
It's like, oh, what happened to that Tishrei high? All of a sudden, I'm feeling lack of safety.
I don't know where my anchor is.
The, my foundation that I keep trying to hold onto from last year is not there, and I'm like, what? Was that a tease? Like, why was all this, like, spiritual high? Where's, like, the new year energy? But really, it's exactly the way it's supposed to be, that Tishrei is a oasis of time, a spiritual retreat with us and Hashem to feel held, to open up our neshamah, open up our heart, open up our bodies to receive the new divine mission, Hashem's new energy.
Like, it's not, it's not like if we don't understand this, we could have this, like, what? Tishrei came.
Now I'm going through this work all over again.
I thought this year was gonna be different.
No, th- this is the work.
This is the avoda, every year taking in that powerful energy and rebuilding from scratch.
I think it's interesting also that yesterday was October 7th, and most often, not every year, but a lot of years, October 7th will be the anni- the anniversary of October 7th will be during the, the week that we l- learn Parsha Bereishit.
That's how it was also the f- three years ago when October 7th happened, and I mean, that was, like, the ultimate, right? It was Simchat Torah.
I mean, it's terrifying.
But on a personal level, it can also feel like that, that, um, just bringing the comparison, that Bereishit could feel like after Tishrei we could have this, like, fall of just like, oh no, I, I don't have that, the Sukkah to hold me anymore, or like the routine of Tishrei, and I kind of don't know where to land.
And it's interesting also if you look at, I mean, you open up Parshat Bereishit, there's no hi- Hashem's not hiding the fact.
