August 9, 2026 - Sunday Service

Please join your hearts with mine as we go to God in prayer.

Let us pray.

Oh Lord, we come before you today and we sing to you.

We shout for joy to the rock of our salvation.

We come this morning before your presence with thanksgiving, and we raise loud shouts to you.

For you are a great God, a sovereign God above all gods.

The sea belongs to you, God, and all of the earth.

We now bow down before you, and we bend our knees before our Lord, our maker.

Amen.

And now let us join our voices together and pray the prayer our Lord Jesus taught us saying, our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not to temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

Amen.

Friends, as we enter into this space as a community, we sit here before the almighty and all vulnerable God, and we open ourselves to God's voice.

And if we are honest with ourselves and with each other, None of us have done everything perfectly.

All of us have missed the mark in some way.

We also hold on to this promise that God gives us that if we confess our sins before God and one another, we will be forgiven.

Therefore, let us join our voices together and pray the prayer of confession printed in your bulletins.

God, our refuge, you hear our cries for mercy.

You know our exhaustion, our cynicism, our sense of defeat.

You lift the lowly and offer hope to the hopeless, but we are quick to lose perspective and exaggerate critique.

We confess the ways we are tempted to give up on the path of righteousness.

We pray for your forgiveness.

Amen.
