The Wizards lose on Monday night to the Charlotte Hornets without Kon Knueppel and Coby White in a game laced with poor effort from Washington. After a dreadful 3 quarters of shooting the Wizards…
I think general team theme, I think it boils down pretty simply.
We didn't get up enough threes tonight.
We did not get up enough threes until late in the fourth quarter, and we started making some.
Lord knows who would have guessed.
We finally start to do threes and we come back.
It's our best comeback of the, not of the season, but of the game.
I think we went on 11, two run, bring in some shooters.
We get up some threes and that's the case.
And I tweeted it as well.
We shot 28 threes tonight.
And I'd imagine like at least what? I don't know, at least 10 of those is in the fourth quarter, if not more, right? So in two, three quarters, you got up less than 23s, probably less, maybe like 15, right? Through three quarters of basketball.
This is 2026 guys.
You're not going to win a game doing that.
And I, I pondered this at halftime.
If you look at our three-point rate, like the guys who get up the most threes a game, Trae Young is obviously ahead through three games it was.
He's getting up nine threes a game against the small sample, obviously, three games.
But still, in our beginning, like we've kind of held serve as far as getting up threes, but a lot of that has to do with Trae.
Trae's getting up like a third of our threes in a given game, right? Because he's been really big, you know, as far as like just, you know, as a team, you got to get up threes.
Trae's been good for that.
He's shooting well.
Exactly.
And this isn't me dogging on Trae because I don't think he played – I don't think he was great, but I don't think he was bad either.
