During the last episode, if you recall, I was complaining about it not being dry enough to keep up with my garden and that the farmstead area around the house was growing up with weeds, flower beds, etc., etc.

And I record this Saturday, September 20th, 2 o'clock in the afternoon, potentially three hours or maybe five hours, depending on how you look at the forecast, ahead of the first good-looking chance of rain that we've seen in weeks.

So all that complaining, like I said, about it being too wet, I wish I'd kept my mouth shut.

The green swaths of timber that line the ridges up and down Dry Creek are dotted by the occasional brown, where a tree just couldn't hang on another year.

There's a whole lot of reasons why it's not uncommon for timber to die, but I've seen a lot more of it this year, and I've seen a lot of it in the last four years.

And I'm going to get somebody to come on where I talk about timber, particularly decline of red and white oak.
So

all of our preparation to improve our pastures, everything we'd done and everything that was looking good just a while back, kind of went up in flames.

All of the young grass I'd kept the cows and the sheep off of that was just really going good, and I'd not hit it hard.
Yeah.

Yeah.
