Dubai can look like a postcard of skyscrapers and luxury, but living there teaches you the real story fast: it’s blazing hot outside, freezing cold inside, and somehow both deeply traditional and…
That's incredible.
I would have never realized that.
It's like, you know, Silicon Valley was so, you know, and of course I live here.
So you hear, you do and you don't.
Like I'm here in the East Bay.
So I hear it.
Yeah, it's there or whatever.
But it sounds so futuristic and amazing.
Sometimes it's like science fiction.

sky high, that it feels like time.

I love my forest and mountains, you know, outdoor sports.
But you do something called mall-athon.
So basically you go running marathons or...
Maybe not 42 kilometers, but 10 kilometers or, you know, whatever, five miles in the shopping malls from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the shops open.
So that is a little bit heartbreaking for people who love nature like us.
Yes.
I'm just like you.
