Widespread voter confusion would inevitably follow.

The ruling comes after Republican Congressman Bob Onder and Republican congressional nominee Rick Bratton and two Missouri primary voters argued that their votes would be invalidated if the old maps were reinstated for the November election.

Judge Clark agreed with their argument.

The ruling will help enable the Republicans to retain control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
