love too that so much happened this weekend that we're not going to talk about the SEC and Big Ten jumping on board with the Protect College Sports Act that's going through Congress right now.

Yeah, I mean, it's a side note, but it's also entirely related, right? This is the kind of counteracting what the court said.

It was basically, you know, these conferences are realizing without passing this act, at least as a starting point, Congress runs college sports.

And so a way, anything that these conferences can do, I mean, they love control of college sports just as much as the NCAA does.

And the you know friday was the greatest sense of lack of control i think we've really ever seen at least in a college basketball sense because hell broke loose in the middle on the last day of july from a congress ruling like kind of

yes which there have been clarifications made uh since friday's ruling so friday's ruling uh in colorado basically said everybody in the class of 2022 As long as you're not 20 years old, everybody in the class of 2022 is eligible for a fifth year.

The five and five rule that was going to take into effect basically starting next season was going to retroactively apply now to players in the class of 2022, right? There was a thought the transfer portal was going to open starting today for a week, August 3rd through 10th to allow those players to be able to transfer.

There was a thought that uh if you had signed an exhibit 10 deal or a professional deal you could go back to college still and find a way basically it was going to be you know everyone likes to call the wild wild west it was going to be the wild west for a week basically to get all this stuff figured out and then the remnants effects from there sunday clarification came from judge sweeney in colorado not opening the transfer portal not changing any rules not allowing any movement basically saying Previous rules applied.

So if you enter the transfer portal back in April, you are still eligible to move.

The only difference is basically all the ruling was saying if you're a class of 2022 and did not start your college career at 20, you're eligible for a fifth year, which the short of it is if you enter the portal hoping for a waiver, you basically got that waiver and you were good.

If you were Donovan Atwell and want to go back to Texas Tech, you can do that, right? But if you did not enter your name into the portal, as of right now, you are eligible for a fifth year at your previous school, as long as they have room for you, because there is not an extension of roster limits right now.

So if you are Texas Tech example, if you are Darion Williams and wanted to go to Texas Tech, Right now, your option is to go back to NC State or try your hand playing professionally.

I have a question for you because you're talking about this like, oh, well, at least you can enter the portal.

Out of curiosity, in your opinion on CBB Analytics, how many guys listed as seniors last year had entered the portal previously in the actual portal phase? Give me a number.

How many guys listed as seniors put themselves in the transfer portal despite being out of eligibility? 35.
