This is a generation that has been bombarded with information since they were very young.
Social media is something that is vital to their community and to their existence.
I have a little sister who is in this age group and I can see the amount of stress that has been placed upon her her entire life.
It's rough and it is even more difficult in these tumultuous times to form a solid identity because as social media goes back and forth between various fads, various understandings, various information being put out, it is easy to allow ourselves to get swept up in that tide and to lose ourselves, to lose our faith.
But how can young people overcome this? How can young people stay true to their faith in such a world that can often be hostile to those of us who seek to preserve it? You're listening to VoxSFX, the voice of St.
Our guest today is Molly Patko, and she is actually kind of from my neck of the woods.
She comes from rural Montana and has embraced a path that is centered around religion, around religious studies.
And as you'll hear, there are particular challenges that come with being a person of faith who enters an academic field that studies religion, because we have to be able to look at our faith, not only how we experience it, but also how it can be academically observed and understood.
And so she is one of these inspiring young people who has been able to not just retain her faith, but grow it throughout the course of her college career.
And I think she stands as an example, as an inspiration for those of us who are seeking to preserve it as well.
And I hope that it will bring a warmth to your heart as it is brought to mind.
