know there's some things that i think about that i just think are like secondary issues or that i just want to know like like when we're talking about in time stuff or you know or even denominational differences like so many people get angry at people for denominational differences and i've just never really understood that um stuff like that just makes me wonder like i want to know if there's a clear-cut answer because i like clear-cut answers i think people like clear-cut answers and so in gray areas or tough to understand areas or mysteries like uh you know mysteries like sacraments and stuff like that that is always like fascinating to me that i think is fun but nothing ever that's like oh i'm not going to believe in jesus because i don't have this answer

I saw some clips from your conversation with Trent Horn.

He's a friend.

Yeah.

I had no idea that you were evangelical and then converted Catholicism.

It fascinates me so much.

I think one of the hardest things for me about like the, you know, the ortho bro and Catholicism stuff online, it's like sometimes it's like mean, right? it's like mean sometimes and i i'm you know i'm like i sometimes i don't want to engage because i'm like wow but like conversations like you and trent horn and just like people all offline and you know father rank schmidt it's been so fun just like ask questions and hear it so like just i'm encouraged by you guys by like being a light and being like um i don't know a cool light for catholicism it's been it's been encouraging so

There's an entire, you know, infinite set of possibilities of what God could mean.

And then, like you said, if we're admitting like supernatural or... non-normative explanations for things then yeah like that becomes even more infinitely complex and possible so yeah i don't know i mean i'll see where he's going with this but i mean if this is one of the foundational pillars of the historical facts then i'm gonna have some problems i think

It reminds me of Trent Horn, the other Trent, has a video about why Eucharistic miracles prove Catholicism and can't be explained through demons.

It's that, well, demons don't have the power to generate life and do these particular holy things, which is just begging the question to the nth degree, which is...

This is actually something I'm going to talk about at Trent Horn's conference next month, which is not going to be next month when this airs.

It'll be that month.

But regardless, at Trent's conference, I'm going to be speaking about kind of the mistakes that I made in evangelizing online.

And likewise, a salary, he mentions, by which one can provide for his family so that the family is not split up, the children being then left to be just raised by the state.

Now, there's more details, obviously, which go beyond the details of a sermon, but there's a great work, Catholic apologist Trent Horn, and his work, Can a Catholic Be a Socialist?, that get into those various details of salary and the more economic errors of socialism.

But we note from the example of the Bible, summed up in our catechetical presentation, that to defraud the labor of his due wage and to oppress the poor are two of the sins which cry to heaven for vengeance.

Again, it goes against men's very identity as the image and likeness of God, our Father.

I vehemently disagree with that, and I do a whole talk on that as to why.

i'm allowed to hold that opinion because it's not definitive dogmatic church teaching not even doctrine and so we have to understand that so i think the two sides here are trying to do this when we just need to stop and say listen i think we're saying the same thing but you're just putting it in a different wrapper and and we need to unwrap it and see where we're at And so there's a great article by Trent Horn of Catholic Answers.

And I'd really like to use this information here for this next segment because he does an excellent job.

If you say the chair is empty now, then you've got to use that same argument to say the chair was empty in the 9th and 10th centuries.

Does this make sense? By creating enough gaps in papal succession, all of apostolic succession is now threatened.

Trent Horn's concern is that the logic of Sedevacantism and its desire to unseat recent popes could be weaponized against the entire papacy.

There was one point where he had Gavin Ortland and Trent Horn and an Eastern Orthodox guy.

But yeah, they had a debate about salvation.

That will give me a lot of food for thought.
