You mentioned the bashing of the olives.

So like to get the olives down, they were just like hitting the branches with sticks.

Traditionally, that was how it was done.

Yeah.

They have machinery now, but I mean, still in the hills in Greece, they still do them the same way.

It's a really long stick.

And they just put some curtains on the floor when they knock all the olives off when they're ripe.

And then I was working over there as a student and it was just smashing the trees with a stick to get the olives off and then picking all the leaves out and then obviously emptying the curtains into the barrels or into the trucks and then carry on.

Luckily, it's mostly going into cooler days.

I couldn't do it in the summer.

That was one of the great memories of those trees.

So I've still got a real affinity for all the trees.

Interesting.

So you got a summer job in Greece.

Well, I went over there for a bit of a break and ended up just doing some work.

You know, it's just the way these things...

You know, it's like being a tree person.

You don't plan anything that works out properly.

Right.

If you keep planning, it will definitely go wrong.

I was just here.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah, it's like Tony and I quip about tree actions.

We are the podcast so disorganized we repeat.
