Tiff ShuttlesworthHostOur text today is found in the New Testament in the Gospel of John and the 8th chapter.
And as he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery.
"'Teacher,' they said to Jesus, "'this woman has been caught in the act of adultery.
The law of Moses says to stone her.' What do you say? They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him.
So he stood up again and said, all right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone.
When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman.
Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you? No, Lord, she said.
Heavenly Father, once again, as we open up the Holy Bible, we humble our hearts in your presence and before this audience of people, and we confess our need of you in wisdom, in understanding, in communication, and in counsel.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight.
I pray specifically for all of those who perhaps today have stumbled across this program, but if the truth be known, they're not sure as to where they stand with God.
