Exodus 31

I'll focus on the problems, the situation, rather than the promises of God.

God had said, we might read it later in Exodus, that this was going to happen, that this promised land was going to be for them.

And Caleb and Joshua were referring to that, and they weren't letting the fear get in the way.

And maybe inside they're a little bit fearful, might have been a little bit fearful, like, ooh, it does look big, it does look hard.

If we go to Deuteronomy 31, so we'll keep going over there.

I'll read it while you're turning there.

I'll read the promise in Exodus 31.

So in Exodus 3 it said, The Jebusites.

Well, where did he get that? Glad you asked.

Turn to Exodus 35.

31, I'm sorry.

Exodus 31, next chapter, next book over.

Exodus 31, verse 12.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, But as for you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, You shall surely observe my Sabbath, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you.

So the Sabbath has special significance for Israel.

Different callings.

Look at Exodus 31, verse 1.

Quickly.

The Lord said to Moses quickly, go on.

IN VERSE 15, IT SAYS, SIX DAYS MAY WORK BE DONE.

YOU NEED TO COMBINE THIS WITH EXODUS chapter 20 and verse 9 that verse says six days shalt thou labor and do all thy work this was one of the ten commandments and if you took that verse just by itself you could interpret that to say that you must work six days and you just took one day off but when you combine it with this verse in verse 15 of exodus 31 it says six days may work BE DONE.

SO THAT CHANGES THE WHOLE THING.

IN OTHER WORDS, THIS COMMAND IN EXODUS CHAPTER 20 VERSE 9 ISN'T THAT YOU HAVE TO WORK SIX DAYS.

That is not fully generational, but it is in that same way something that gets passed down from one to the other.

Exodus 31.

Let's turn there.

Exodus chapter 31, verse 13.

It's discussed in the booklet.

But for instance, in Numbers chapter 14 and verse 34, or Exodus chapter 4 and verse 6, there's this idea of a day representing a year, etc.

And if you take seven times, which often means a year, and take 360 days in a prophetic year, but if all of those happen to be years, what do you get in the total number of years? 2,520 years.

So if there is a time indicated at all, because we know God says, look, I'm going to curse you.

And in losing the Sabbath...

They lost the sign of their identity being attached to God.

We won't turn there for the sake of time, but you'll want to note Exodus chapter 31.

Exodus 31 speaks of the Sabbath as a sign between God and those descendants.

It's scary to me how accurate the instructions of God are in warning us of this exact thing that we're facing.

Exodus 31, 13, Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep, for it is a sign between you and me throughout your generations.

And here we are in 2026, and they're so obsessed with making their own sign, the Sunday issue, that they don't even recognize that the real one is there.

And it is God's sign through the generation that I am the Lord who does sanctify you.
