Based on your economics brain slash the math here, are job losses an inevitability here?

Yeah, a recent report came out by a very credible source at the University of Calgary that's modeling something as extreme as potentially 90,000 jobs.

Now, remember that among Canada's 40 million, there's about 24, 25 million people actively engaged in the labor market.

So 90,000 jobs lost is devastating to those 90,000 families that are connected to those jobs.

But it's not going to be the type of thing where we're talking about double digit unemployment in Canada.

Remember that if it's $20 billion worth of goods and services that are affected, And Canada's exporting and importing $1 billion in each direction each day.

Even with the counter tariffs, we're talking about less than three weeks worth of economic activity just on the export and import side.

And where we are now is nowhere near where we would have imagined 18 months ago.
