I just wanted to talk about, you know, I had a good time playing Pokemon Yellow for the first time.
I'd never played, like, a Gen I game or, like, any of, like, the, the, the remakes, like FireRed and LeafGreen.
Like, it's not, it's not a perfect game by any means, but it's still a pretty, it's still a pretty enjoyable experience, and I think there's a lot to appreciate in terms of just how kinda stripped back and streamlined it is.
I don't necessarily love some of, like, the, the balancing decisions and, like, the logic behind them, but I do think it's interesting and it gives the games a little bit more of, um, kind of a unique identity where it feels like they are born much more out of, like, their RPG, JRPG roots than being a bonafide Pokemon game as we would recognize one today.
Yeah, because they, you, you really do have to, like, approach them in, in, in, in different ways because you have a lot more constraints in Gen I, like no held items, abilities, the special stat is merged.
And it feels like, and this is still somewhat the case today, but especially in Gen I where there's only 151 Pokemon, the typings themselves also have a little bit more of a, um, unique identity in terms of functionality.
