JakeHOST

That already, in my opinion, kind of knocks this Pokemon off because there's really only one deck, I think, that can do that consistently.
JakeHOST
28:28
Yeah, and it's Alakazam, and I think this would be not a very good attacker.
SeanHOST
28:32
I mean, would you run
JakeHOST
28:33
this for now

40 MINS LATER

SeanHOST
68:20
But what is the last stadium here, Jake?
JakeHOST
68:23
this is what i think a lot of people are considering to be the best legendary stadium of the trio legendary lava lake i think we've talked about this a little bit before especially on that 301 episode because it's used in some deck lists but for anyone who does not know evolution pokemon in play both yours and your opponents have no abilities this is just kind of generically one of the stronger stadiums in here because you know this is like thwarting for your opponent as well right you know we talk about there's plenty of pokemon in the pokemon trading card game that have abilities especially on evolutions being able to stall those out can really ruin a ton a ton a ton of different game plans especially because this is evolution Pokemon that could be like EXs.
JakeHOST
69:13
This could be Megas, right? This could be Alakazam and Dunsparce.
JakeHOST
69:17
It could be Dracloaks.
Ben MorrisHOST
79:59
I would definitely cut, if it accelerated two, I would for sure cut one of the Dynamotor lines for this line, you know? I think so.
Ben MorrisHOST
80:10
Alright, Hypno has the Mind Ruler attack for one energy, 20 damage for each card in your opponent's hand, which we see on the same attack as Alakazam.
Ben MorrisHOST
80:23
Well, not the same, because this one is not damage counters.
Jon PattersonHOST
80:25
It's a great card into Alakazam.
Jon PattersonHOST
80:28
That's right.
Ben MorrisHOST
80:29
Alright, Giratina, we talked about last week, so we don't need to talk about it a lot, but this is the one that does 120 damage and becomes invincible.
Maia MelbanGUEST
5:32
And then it was just kind of a matter of picking what I actually wanted to play.
Maia MelbanGUEST
5:36
I thought it was going to be Alakazam for a little bit, just because I like drawing a lot of cards.
Maia MelbanGUEST
5:41
I liked some of the kind of control-esque cards you could play in that deck.
Maia MelbanGUEST
5:45
Big control fan.
Gabe ShumwayHOST
8:08
So what does the deck's matchup spread look like then exactly? It seems like such a horrible play.
Gabe ShumwayHOST
8:13
I mean, Dragafold's obviously a great matchup, but what does everything else look like?
Maia MelbanGUEST
8:17
Like, some of the one-prize decks, like Sloking, Alakazam, Festival Lead, I would say are, like, slight unfavored.
Maia MelbanGUEST
8:24
They're very winnable.
JoeyHOST
19:42
He's healthier than Gronk.
JoeyHOST
19:43
We got slot receiver now between Alakazam, Pinsir, and Sidra.
JoeyHOST
19:48
I feel like here you got to go Alakazam.
Jack KellyHOST
19:51
Yeah, I like Alakazam.
Jack KellyHOST
19:52
I agree.
JoeyHOST
19:53
Also, Kadabra to Alakazam might be a good.
JoeyHOST
19:56
Did we choose Kadabra?
Jack KellyHOST
19:57
Yeah,
BexHOST
50:52
It's like a Malamar.
GalatradHOST
50:52
Or Alakazam.
BexHOST
50:54
Or Alakazam of its like typing.
BexHOST
50:59
So again, we're building, right? So like Ultra Sun says, its intellect surpasses its previous level, resulting in battles so cruel that they'll make you want to cover your eyes.
BexHOST
51:11
Ultra Moon says when it knows it can't win, when it knows it's like doomed, it's like, oh, you've got surf.
10typesHOST
19:52
There's Dustwar, which is going to be, I suppose, a pull.
10typesHOST
19:54
You got Alakazam, which is surviving rotation.
10typesHOST
19:57
The other ones I said are not surviving rotation.
10typesHOST
20:01
There is, I don't know.
Adrian MaHOST
7:11
Right.
Adrian MaHOST
7:12
The Pokemon price index that Card Ladder puts together, it tracks about 9,600 different Pokemon cards, all the way from your Alakazams to your Zapdos, which I just learned about today.
Adrian MaHOST
7:25
And according to this index, prices for Pokemon cards have more than doubled in the past three months.
Ricky MulveyHOST
7:32
Moving money from data centers to Pokemon cards.
Chip RicheyHOST
6:37
Yeah, other standouts here from the meta share.
Chip RicheyHOST
6:41
Alakazam, second most popular, 8% basic box.
Chip RicheyHOST
6:45
Boosted back up a little bit.
Chip RicheyHOST
6:46
It had been a little bit lower, like 5%, but after the win in Baltimore, kind of picking those numbers back up, 7.5%.
Azul GGHOST
6:57
Because I feel like the other decks have a little bit more nuance to them.
Azul GGHOST
7:02
Basic box feels like the least nuanced of the 7% decks overall.
Azul GGHOST
7:06
Locating Alakazam.
Azul GGHOST
7:07
Basic Box feels like a deck that should be 10%.
